Return-Side Belt Cleaning

The SEC Business Group Diagonal Plough is designed to remove spillage and debris from the return side of conveyor belts before it reaches tail pulleys or other critical components. Installed on a flat section of the return belt, the plough deflects material away from the belt surface to maintain a cleaner conveyor system.

Protects Pulleys and Conveyor Components

By removing material before it reaches vulnerable areas, the Diagonal Plough helps prevent material build-up on pulleys, reduces belt damage, and lowers maintenance requirements, improving overall conveyor reliability.

Flexible Installation Options

Available for belt widths from 450mm up to 2400mm with UHMW or FRAS polyurethane blade options. Adjustable mounting brackets allow installation above or below the conveyor structure to suit different conveyor layouts.

Description

Effective Return-Side Cleaning and Pulley Protection

The SEC Business Group Diagonal Plough is designed to remove spillage and debris from the return side of conveyor belts before material can reach critical components such as tail pulleys or bend pulleys.
Installed on a flat and stable section of the return belt, typically near the tail pulley or counterweight bend pulley, the plough helps maintain a clean belt and protects conveyor equipment from unnecessary wear and damage.

Often referred to as a return belt cleaner, the Diagonal Plough deflects material away from the belt surface to prevent build-up on pulleys and reduce the risk of belt damage. By removing spillage before it reaches vulnerable components, the plough helps minimise downtime, reduce maintenance requirements, and improve overall
conveyor reliability.

Robust Construction and Practical Design

The system consists of mounting brackets with adjustable mounting shafts, a durable plough frame, and a bolt-on polyurethane blade. The blade measures 100mm in height with 50mm of usable blade, delivering effective cleaning while maintaining long service life.

While the Diagonal Plough can tolerate limited reversing belt movement, it is not designed for continuous reversing operation. For conveyors that regularly run in both directions, a dedicated reversing plough should be considered.

Optional Stone Guard Protection

In applications where larger material may pass along the return belt, an optional Stone Guard can be installed. The Stone Guard helps prevent large objects from passing over the plough frame and reaching the pulley area, providing additional protection for conveyor components.
