SEC Business Group Plategrip™ Solid Plate Fasteners provide a
durable compression splice designed for heavy-duty conveyor
belt applications and reliable long-term performance.
The solid plate design eliminates the need for hinge pins,
creating a stable splice ideal for belt joining and rip
repair applications.
Available in steel, Durgard heat-treated steel, and stainless
steel to suit abrasive, corrosive, and heavy-duty operating
environments.
Description
The SEC Business Group Plategrip™ Solid Plate Fastener System provides
a strong and durable mechanical splice designed for demanding conveyor
belt applications. As a compression fastener, Plategrip™ delivers
excellent splice strength and long-term reliability.
Because Plategrip™ fasteners do not use a hinge pin, they create a
shift-free splice, making them ideal not only for belt joining but
also for belt rip repairs where a strong and stable connection
is required.
The traditional Plategrip™ tooth design overlaps the edges of the plates,
providing additional holding power, particularly on thinner belts.
This design allows the fastener to grip the belt carcass securely while
maintaining smooth belt operation.
Plategrip™ fasteners pass smoothly over conveyor pulleys, trippers,
belt cleaners, and scrapers while still allowing the belt to trough
naturally during operation.
Plategrip™ fasteners perform reliably when operating over crowned pulleys
and take-up pulleys, ensuring consistent conveyor performance in demanding
materials handling environments.
Each bucket of solid plate fasteners is supplied with pre-assembled bolts
and bottom plates using a patented fastening system that simplifies
installation and improves splice reliability.
The fastening system incorporates a special thin metal washer that
clinches the bolt to the bottom plate during installation. This design
has proven to be superior to plastic or nylon washers, which can slide
along bolt threads and reduce installation reliability.
Steel – Plategrip™ Solid Plate Fasteners
Steel is the most common and economical fastener material, making it
suitable for the majority of conveyor belt applications. Steel
Plategrip™ fasteners are available in a wide range of sizes and shapes
and can be used for both new installations and replacement splicing.
Durgard – Plategrip™ Solid Plate Fasteners
Durgard is a specially heat-treated steel designed for high-abrasion
environments. It offers significantly longer service life compared
to standard steel fasteners and is best suited for abrasive
applications. However, it is not recommended for highly
corrosive environments.
Stainless Steel – Plategrip™ Solid Plate Fasteners
Stainless steel Plategrip™ fasteners are ideal for applications where
corrosion, chemicals, or moisture exposure are a concern. Stainless
steel provides improved resistance to abrasion, acids, chemicals,
and magnetic attraction. Fasteners are available as complete
stainless steel sets or with stainless steel top plates combined
with standard steel components.
