Description

Strength of Steel with the Benefits of Composite Design

SEC Business Group Steel Hybrid Rollers combine the strength and durability of conventional steel rollers with the performance advantages of composite bearing housings. This hybrid construction uses reinforced composite bearing housings pressed into a steel shell, providing improved protection against belt damage and enhanced operational reliability.

The combination of the composite housing material and its geometric design ensures that, in the unlikely event of shell failure, there is no hard, sharp edge that could cause the traditional “pizza-cut” damage to the conveyor belt.

Advanced Bearing and Seal Protection

SEC Business Group Steel Hybrid Rollers are fitted with 2RS FAG greased-for-life bearings and incorporate non-contact centrifugal seals with a stationary full rock shield.

This sealing system protects the internal components from dust, moisture, and entrapped rocks, helping prevent premature roller damage and ensuring dependable performance in harsh operating environments.

Designed for Heavy-Duty Conveyor Applications

These rollers are particularly suited to heavy-duty applications, including impact zones, high-tension conveyor sections, and environments where conventional steel-housed rollers may be undesirable.

They perform reliably in high-speed, corrosive, or abrasive materials handling operations ranging from small quarry installations to large-scale mining applications including iron ore, hard rock, and coal operations.

Available Coating Options

  • Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer
  • Galvanising
  • Rubber Lagging
  • FRAS Rubber Lagging
  • Ceramic Lagging
  • Polyurethane Lagging

Steel Hybrid Rollers are supplied with powder-coated shells as standard and can be colour-matched to site requirements.
Additional coatings can be applied to extend shell life and improve corrosion resistance.
