SEC Business Group Inverted Vee Return Idler Frames are designed to improve
belt tracking on the return side of the conveyor by increasing belt edge tension
and guiding the belt back to centre.
Operating through belt tension rather than steering, the system remains effective
in wet, humid, or contaminated environments without relying on friction
between the belt and rollers.
The telescopic frame design suits multiple belt widths and is supplied standard
with UltraRoll™ composite rollers, with steel rollers available on request.
Description
SEC Business Group Inverted Vee Return Idler Frames are engineered and fabricated
to meet or exceed industry standards and specific customer requirements.
Designed for reliability and precision, these frames are manufactured using
advanced production methods including CNC laser cutting and robotic welding.
All welding is completed in accordance with AS1554.1 SP welding standards,
ensuring high-quality construction and consistent tolerance levels.
The inverted vee return idler is installed on the return side of the conveyor belt,
typically positioned adjacent to flat return idlers on the approach to the tail pulley,
counterweight bend pulley, or other areas where belt tracking is critical.
As the belt begins to track off-centre, the inverted wing rollers create increased
tension along the belt edges, encouraging the belt to return to its neutral
and centralised position.
Because the system operates using belt tension rather than steering components,
it does not rely on friction between the belt and rollers.
This makes the inverted vee design particularly effective in wet, humid,
or contaminated environments where other tracking devices may lose effectiveness.
The system also operates without causing damage to belt edges,
making it a reliable solution for return-side belt tracking.
Each inverted vee return idler frame features a telescopic design,
allowing the frame to accommodate multiple belt widths while simplifying installation.
Frames are supplied standard with SEC Business Group UltraRoll™ composite rollers,
with steel rollers available upon request.
Galvanised frames are supplied as standard for corrosion resistance,
with powder-coated finishes available if required.
While standard configurations are available for common belt widths,
frames can also be designed and supplied to suit custom belt widths
or roller configurations.
Additional sizes and custom configurations are available on request.
